Since graduating from the Comenius University and finishing his studies in the Netherlands, he has been specializing in the research in systematics, diversity and ecology of aquatic organisms, development of information technology in the field of animal diversity and lecturing at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University.

He was several times nominated for Novinárska cena (Journalist Award) and he received honorable mention for his contribution to the development of digital media and online journalism.
